Goal: Strengthen social and independent skills with peers as well as teachers.
Provide environment to express and explore ideas along with creativity freely.
Mornings: Begin with playdough, table-top manipulatives, free art/free play to promote sharing; learning to take turns while working with others.
Group times: Provide theme based learning in areas such as sequencing, spatial relations, concepts such as opposites and positional words, shapes and colors, patterning, beginning letter/number recognition, name recognition, calendar concepts, categorizing etc. through games, stories, songs, rhymes and finger plays.
Themed topics: May include Apples, Community Helpers, Dinosaurs, Fall, Ocean etc.
Outside time: Provided daily on an age-appropriate playground area, weather permitting.
Free Play: Offers access to blocks and other building materials, home living, dress up, vehicles, puzzles, books, and sensory tables.
Art: Generally theme related and may include process/product oriented projects. Students are exposed to a variety of techniques and media to promote creativity and fine motor development such as cutting and pencil grip.
Spiritual Growth: Bible stories and verses, biblical concepts such as God’s love for us, Jesus as His Son, and prayer. Chapel is attended bi-weekly.
*Music and Creative Movement classes are attended monthly.
*Parents provide a light morning snack and lunch.
